Apologies…

It’s one of these posts again, where I apologise for not posting and then give you some instagram photos.  I know they get a bit of a bad rap but I quite like these kinds of posts. ( And yeah, I have to say that, don’t I?!)

Taking a glimpse at the above I can confirm that I have been doing a bit of crafty-ness ( the pinterest friendly map lampshade anyone?), visiting Liverpool and Family, eating and drinking at various places in Sheffield and beyond ( Tamper at Seller’s Wheel is my new fave), putting together a new bed, having a new hair colour most months, joining twitter and getting our save the dates sent ( but I’ll be filling you in a bit more about them in a bit!)

In more exciting news, I will be blogging about our wedding over at Boho Weddings, I’m dead excited about blogging with Kelly and the rest of the team of brides. I took the brave step of adding the link to Boho over at my Facebook and I’ve been really touched at the comments and well wishes from old school and uni friends. Blogging does really bring people together…..

It’s been a long time….

Sheesh. What happened there?

Glastonbury happened. And then sunshine. And then friends. And then family. Ooo and a bit of wedding planning. Anyway. I’m back from my hiatus. Can it be a hiatus when you didn’t plan it? Anyway. Glastonbury was brilliant. Bigger than I remember. And warmer. Far more tiring, though I suppose being 32 is a stark contrast to a 19 year old.

Here’s a few select shots; beware – we’re not the coolest of campers. No offence, pals.

Busy Bee: What I’ve Been Up To Pt 2

June is my busy month. I’ve had things in the diary for June since last October – thanks Glastonbury,  but safe to say, it’s kind of put a hold on wedding planning for the time being, well til July! We have booked our photographer and make-up and hair  – priorities, right? And I’ll post about those ladies soon.

We travelled down to London on Friday, we don’t visit nearly often enough and when we do it’s usually for an event and this time was no exception, we were going to see Bruce Springsteen at Wembley on Saturday! We saw Bruce last year at Hyde Park, I say saw, in reality I mean that we were in the same space as him but neither of us can really remember anything about it. I blame the gin-in-a-tin. Friday night, we got to our hotel in Bloomsbury at 3ish, dropped our bags off and ventured into Holborn and then Soho to visit some choice pubs. I’d bought Chris this map for his birthday and coupled with a few recommendations from friends and a Time Out – we made our way round a few – for anyone wanting to replicate our movements, you can via 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9   . For anyone worrying about our alcohol consumption, we ate here ; bringing back memories of our holiday to Essaouira a couple of years ago – the food was delicious and reasonably priced plus the best mint tea I’ve had outside of Morocco.

Saturday, we shamefully didn’t do much; wandered around the Brunswick Centre, where I bought a pair of high-top Cons. I had an urge to wear them for the gig. You know when you get that kind of impulse. We headed over to Wembley at about 4pm. And had a pint in a Premier Inn car park. Best not to think too much about that one. And convened and met our friends in a bar nearer the stadium. I’ve never been to Wembley before and wasn’t quite prepared for the size of it. Though considering the size and reputation of the venue, my experience wasn’t all that positive. Generally the staff didn’t really seem to know what they were doing, pints spilling everywhere – and at a fiver pop, not something we were wanting! slow service, unsureness about what to do, not knowing where there were any cash points – just made me a bit unimpressed really BUT one girl who served us a couple of times was fantastic; cheery and helpful BUT we didn’t get her name; so girl on the 1996 bar on the 3rd till – you were lovely!

Bruce, however, was awesome. 3.5 hours of music. He’s 60-odd. Man, I’m in awe. The crowd was great, a real mix of people; everyone just wanting a good time. One time, I’m going to get down the front so he can choose me to get up and do a bit of Dancin’ in the Dark!

2013-06-17 14.06.59We’ve got Glastonbury in 8 sleeps. So there’ll be a post about that. I’m not looking forward to no showers for 5 days though. Batiste; wherefore art thou?

Pin Up

I’m beginning to like Pinterest just as much as I like Instagram. That may be because it’s almost an integral part of wedding planning these days and I am using it for that, well not planning, more like pinning pictures I like onto a vaguely themed board. The theme being weddings. And pretty pictures. But not only is it good for wedding inspo; where I else could I find a whole host of links to moneysaving and house cleaning?  I particularly use my pinterest for pinning pictures of men I fancy, men with beards ( generally linked), bookshelves, clothes I’ve bought, crafty stuff I’ll ( probably never) make and women I would like to look like…and I love following other people, so add away!

How’s about you, do you use pinterest? And what do you use it for?

Instagram Post: Outfits

I’m a bit of an instagram fan, I may have mentioned it. I think that instagram is my favourite of all social networks; I post clothes I’ve ordered online and am not sure about and get an instant response, I post my new haircut, what I’m eating for my tea and I mean, everyone looks good with an instagram filter, eh? I also love outfit posts but I still havent got the hang of my tripod and timer and look like a bit of a plank when I take posed selfies so a classic instagram mirror shot it is. Here’s a selection of my faves:

Hmmm. So this peruse through my wardrobe has led me to think that I shop in supermarkets for clothes a lot! How’s about you? Do you slip something in next to the fruit and veg? Or do you prefer to make a more luxurious purchase?
